To get into this school I got good grades and did sports in high school. I also had above average SAT scores and did some community service. Really minimal stuff. However if you're in-state I suggest doing more because my school was pretty damn prestigious. It get's easier the more stuff you do and it becomes fun. Besides, resume boosters don't stop after high school.

I recommend studying your ass off for the SATs because if you get high scores on those and you're out of state, you get in-state tuition. That's totally worth it alone. Take a lot of AP's to get credits because it's easy to get behind if you switch majors (which most people do). And work hard. Who cares if you miss out on social life in high school because 4 years here is enough social stimulation for a lifetime imo.

I had a 4Nov 08 2011Civil Engineering
I had a 4.0 on a 4.5 scale. I had good SAT scores but the main thing was my extracurricular activities. I am very well rounded eagle scout who played every sport and spent a lot of time doing volunteering work. My grades have never been the best but Clemson does have a standard for moral fiber and being a well rounded person which I easily met.

I had my ACT scores sent to Clemson my junior year of high school, and they sent me a letter letting me know about the in-state scholarship I could receive, and that they would waive the application fee if/when I applied. The application was basically a formality, but they sent me my acceptance in November of my senior year.
